SAFETY OPERATION
Safety and daily maintenance are the two most important things to remember when operat-
ing machinery. A small amount of daily maintenance will make the weekly or monthly main
-
tenance much easier and less expensive. While maintaining your brush chipper, please
follow the safety guidelines which are written in bold print.
ALWAYS REMOVE THE IGNITION KEY,
LOCK OUT THE ENGINE PANEL, DIS
-
ENGAGE THE CLUTCH AND INSTALL
THE DRUM LOCK PIN BEFORE AT
-
TEMPTING ANY MAINTENANCE.
DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANC

ES, OPEN THE CHIPPER HOUSING
WITHOUT FIRST MAKING SURE THE
CHIPPER DRUM HAS COME TO A
COMPLETE STOP AND THE POWER
UNIT IS OFF.
Because of the high temperature of the
coolant, use caution when removing
radiator cap.
Always shut off the machine before refu-
eling.
Do not smoke, weld or use any type of
ame near the machine when refueling.
Always wear appropriate clothing and
safety equipment while maintaining your
machine.
Always wear leather gloves when chang-
ing or servicing chipper knives.
Always replace all safety guards after
servicing your machine.
Always make sure all ller plugs and
caps are in place after servicing.
When starting power unit indoors, make
sure the area is properly ventilated.
Do not attempt to unplug the chipper in-
feed spout while the chipper is running.
