Preparing Your Radio for Use

To remove the battery,
turn your radio off. Lift up
the latch then slide the
battery down to remove
the battery from your
radio.
Note:If your radio is
preprogrammed
with volatile-key
retention, the
encryption keys
are retained for
approximately 30
seconds after
battery removal.
Check with your
dealer or system
administrator for
more information.
You can view the status of
the IMPRES™ battery if your radio is using an IMPRES™
battery. See Checking the Battery Charge Status on page 63
for more information.
Installing the Antenna
With your radio turned off, set the antenna in its receptacle and
turn clockwise to attach it to your radio.
To remove the antenna, turn the antenna counterclockwise.
Make sure you turn off your radio first.
Battery Latch
is at the bottom
of the battery.
