6.10 Inspection of Compressor
(1) Compressor motor
• Measure resistance across the terminals of the
compressor motor. (All terminals must be
disconnected from the unit.)
• Between terminals {at 68°F (20°C)}
- U-V Approx. 0.64 ohm
- V-W Approx. 0.64
ohm
- W-U Approx. 0.64 ohm
• If the measured resistance is not equal to these
standard values, replace the compressor.
(2) Overload relay
• Check for continuity across two terminals of the
overload relay. At normal temperature, there
should be continuity across the terminals.
Specifications:
- OFF (Open contact): 248°F (120°C)
- ON (Closed circuit): 203°F (95°C)
• If there is no continuity across the terminals,
replace the overload relay.
