Belt
To remove/replace the belt:
1. Remove the belt cover:
1a. Remove the front and lower two screws (indi-
cated by the arrows in Figure 3.1.) using a 3/8”
wrench.
1b. loosen the rear upper screw until the belt cover
is free using a 1/2” wrench.
NOTE: The plastic of the belt cover will grab the screw.
NOTE: The rear upper screw threads through the belt
cover into the engine block.
2. Remove the auger pulley by following the procedures
described in the auger pulley section of this chapter.
3. Slip the belt off of the engine and idler pulleys.
4. Install the belt by following the previous steps in
reverse order.
NOTE: When installing the belt cover, squeeze the drive
bail. This will pull the idler pulley into the belt, giv
-
ing the cover room to slide over it.
5. Test run the snow thrower in a safe area before
returning it to service.
