Control cable
To remove/replace the control cable:
NOTE: Moving the control cable to the upper hole in
the bail will increase the belt tension.
1. Disconnect the control cable from the bail.
See Figure 3.21.
2. Remove the belt by following the procedures
described in the Belt section of this chapter.
3. Disconnect the cable from the cable idler bracket.
See Figure 3.22.
NOTE: The engine pulley was removed in the pic-
ture for a better view of the cable. It is not
necessary to remove the pulley.
4. Fish the cable out of the snow thrower.
5. Install the cable by following the previous steps in
reverse order.
NOTE: The cable should be routed between the top
engine cover and the handle bar when it
exits the engine covers.
See Figure 3.23.
NOTE: The cable should be routed over the joy
stick bracket (if equipped).
6. Test run the snow thrower in a safe area before
returning it to service.
