Note: observing the effect of EXP on the model
EXP does not influence the centre position or end-
points of the control surfaces. If you want to see the
effect of this setting on the model itself, you have to
hold the associated stick at half-travel.
14.10. Activating flight phases
If you have set up a new model glider, flight phase 1 is
always active by default; the other phases (phase 2, 3)
are blocked, and the flight phase change-over switch
(PH) has no effect. This makes the basic settings eas-
ier to carry out and understand.
If you wish to work with switchable flight phases, this is
the procedure:
• What is possible with flight phases? Î 14.9.1.
• Activating flight phases Î 14.9.2.
• Copying flight phase 1 into phases 2
and 3 as the starting point Î 14.9.3.
• Setting up flight phases 2 and 3 Î 14.9.5.
14.10.1. What is possible with flight phases?
Flight phases 1, 2 and 3 are equal-value phases. You
can freely select which flight phase to use for normal
flying, thermal, speed or launch.
When you set up a new model, flight phases 2 and 3
are not activated. Only when you have activated the
flight phases (Î 14.10.2) does the screen display
which flight phase is selected using the appropriate
switches (Î 14.10.3.).
In all three flight phases you can set different values for
the following:
• Dual-Rate D-R Î 14.9.1.
for AILERON (DR A), ELEVATOR (DR E)
and RUDDER (DR R)
•  A -> A mixer
varying differential Î 14.5.2.
•  A -> F mixer
varying differential Î 14.7.3.
• Fixed value for wing camber FIX F Î 14.11.2.
14.10.2. Activating flight phases
Menu: (
SETUP, MODEL) PHASES
If you are setting up a new model we recommend that
you do not
 activate flight phase switching initially.
Once the model is functioning as you want it to, you
can activate the flight phases as described below.
Flight phase 1 (source) is copied into flight phase 2
(destination) and then into flight phase 3 (Î 14.10.4.).
This means that you have a model which is set up
identically in all three phases. From this starting point
you can adjust the settings to suit the requirements of
the individual phases.
Moving to the PHASEN menu:
4 to MENU, r (SETUP appears),
r (MODEL appears), r (MODE appears),
3 to PHASEN, r
The current setting for PHASEN appears in the bottom
line:
0 = flight phase switching disabled
(only flight phase 1 is activated)

1 = all flight phases are activated
Select 0 or 1, then press the 3-D digi-adjustor again
briefly r. The flashing ceases; the selected setting is
now active, and stored.
14.10.3. On-screen display of the active flight
phase
The top section of the screen displays the flight phases
in the form of three figures.
When you are flying (INFO display visible) this applies:

When you make changes in the menus of the COCKPIT
SX, the three figures indicate whether the selected
value is specific to one flight phase, and, if so, to which
flight phase the currently displayed value applies.

The code number of
the active phase is
constantly displayed;
the other two flash.
Important: non flight phase-specific values
If only one constantly visible figure is displayed, the
selected value applies equally to all flight phases.
