Setting security codes
You can set two “keys” to enable security on your machine: Administrator password and
protect passcode.
An administrator password prevents users other than the administrator from editing the
settings in the “Management” screen, and enable the administrator to centrally manage
machines. A protect passcode is a four digit number required when setting function
protect settings and printing security reception documents.
Setting the administrator password
Up to 28 characters can be entered for an administrator password. Make sure to note
and store the password after setting it.
IMPORTANT
If you forget the administrator password, it is necessary to initialize the machine and
set the password again.
In such a case, contact your local technical representative
