Appendix 5 Barcode reader
The Reac f Barcode reader is a laser barcode scanner. The Barcode reader connects to
the analyzer to scan the pa ent (ID) barcode numbers on the specimen containers. The
Barcode reader can scan the following:
Code 39 (Standard/ Full ASCII) Codabar (NW-7) Code 128
Italy Pharmacode UPCA EAN 128
French Pharmacode UPCE MSI
Industrial 25 EAN8 Plessey
Interleave 25 EAN13 Telepen
Matrix 25 Code 93 RSS
Note: A maximum of 25 characters can be read by the barcode reader and displayed,
stored, and transmi ed by the analyzer.
