Chapter 3 Configuring Your SCXI Hardware and Software
© National Instruments Corporation 3-57 Getting Started with SCXI
The SCXI-2400 also includes a connector adapter assembly that provides
the parallel port connector and RS-485 connection. After installing the
SCXI-2400 module into the SCXI chassis, attach this connector adapter to
the rear of the SCXI-2400 through the back opening of the SCXI chassis.
Screw down the connector adapter for secure cabling.
Baud Rate and Address Configuration
The SCXI-2400 includes DIP switches on the front panel to select the baud
rate for serial communication and the address when used with an RS-485
connector.

Leave the DIP switches in these settings for initial configuration. After
establishing communications with the computer, you can increase the baud
rate (up to 57.6 kbps) and, if using an RS-485 connector with multiple
chassis, change the address. See the SCXI-2400 User Manual for more
information about changing the baud rate and address.
