Maintaining the Device and Components Echo-Screen III Pro Instructions for Use
In addition to cleaning cables after each use, perform a light cleaning of the device, battery,
docking station and OAE probe nozzle daily or as dictated by your screening program protocol.
Perform a more thorough cleaning of the device, battery, docking station, and cables as needed.
Device and battery routine cleaning:
1 Turn off the device and unplug the USB and power cables. It is not necessary to unplug
screening cables for routine cleaning unless you suspect that something entered the cable
ports.
IMPORTANT: When unplugging the USB and power cables, hold the plug. Do not pull on the
cable.
2 Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
3 Use a prepackaged alcohol wipe or a lint-free cloth dampened (not wet) with 70% isopropyl
alcohol to wipe down all surfaces of the screening device, including the plastic battery
enclosure. Use a swab to reach small areas.
4 Clean the three battery contacts by wiping each contact individually.
5 Allow the device and battery to dry thoroughly.
6 Reinstall the battery, connect the power cord and USB cable (if using the audble software),
and power up the device.
For thorough cleaning of the device and battery, turn off the device, unplug all cables, and
remove the battery. Use a damp (not wet) lint-free cloth moistened with mild detergent, such as
liquid dishwashing detergent, and water diluted to the detergent manufacturer’s
recommendation to wipe the device’s plastic and rubber surfaces and the battery housing plastic
surfaces. Let the device and battery dry and then follow the routine cleaning protocol.
Docking station routine cleaning:
1 Remove the spare battery from the docking station, and unplug all cables, including the USB
and power cables.
IMPORTANT: When unplugging cables, hold onto the connector or plug. Do not pull on the
cable.
2 Use a prepackaged alcohol wipe or a lint-free cloth dampened (not wet) with 70% isopropyl
alcohol to wipe down the docking station’s plastic and rubber surfaces. Use a swab to reach
small areas.
3 Allow the docking station to dry thoroughly.
4 Reinstall the battery, and connect the power and USB cable.
For thorough cleaning of the docking station, unplug all cables, and remove the spare battery.
Use a damp (not wet) lint-free cloth moistened with mild detergent, such as liquid dishwashing
detergent, and water diluted to the detergent manufacturer’s recommendation to wipe the
docking station’s plastic and rubber surfaces. Let the docking station dry and then follow the
routine cleaning protocol.
WARNING Take care to avoid simultaneously touching any two of the three metal contacts with the
damp cloth. Failure to follow this instruction can result in electrical shorting of the bat-
tery, fire, or electrical shock
