Maintaining the Device and Components
The Echo-Screen III Pro device requires professional maintenance and repair service. Never
attempt to alter, modify, or repair this equipment on your own. Service is to be performed only
by Natus Authorized Service Centers.
Storing the Device and Components
Store the device:
When not in use, keep the device docked in the docking station or stored in the provided
carrying case.
Store the device at temperatures between -30 - 55ºC (-22 - 131º F).
Store the cables:
Loosely coil the cables and store them in the factory packaging or in the Echo-Screen
III carrying case.
Be careful to protect the cable ends (probe tip, transducer housings, and clips) from
accidental impact.
Cleaning the Device and Components
IMPORTANT: The Echo-Screen III device, docking station, and cables should not be exposed
to cleaning solutions or liquids other than the approved cleaners and cleaning protocols.
Approved cleaners are isopropyl alcohol and mild soapy water solution.
WARNING No modification of this device is allowed.
CAUTION If the Echo-Screen III screener and docking station will not be used for a long period of
time, unplug the AC power cord from the outlet and remove the batteries from the
screener and docking station.
WARNING Take care to keep excess alcohol or soapy water from running past the contacts into
the interior of the device, battery, or docking station. Do not immerse the device in
water or other cleaning solutions. Failure to follow this instruction can damage the
device or docking station, or result in electrical shorting of the battery, fire, or electri-
cal shock.
Take care to avoid simultaneously touching any two of the three metal contacts with
the wipe or damp cloth. Failure to follow this instruction can result in electrical short-
ing of the battery, fire, or electrical shock.
CAUTION When cleaning the device and the docking station, be careful to avoid metal elec-
tronic connectors, such as the pins and contacts between the docking station and
the device. Cleaning solutions can cause metal corrosion that might interfere with
the device’s performance.
The probe contains sensitive components. Never attempt to clean the sound aper-
tures in the probe housing mechanically or with liquids. Doing so can damage the
probe.
