Adding Partitions
Perform the following procedure to create an additional partition in a free space of a hard disk drive installed in
slot0 of CPU/IO module 0 and CPU/IO module 1. In the following example, a RAID1 device (/dev/md/data) is
created in a partition of 10GB and that partition is set as “/mnt/data”.
Important
If the partition is wrongly operated, the system may not start up or data may be
lost. Be sure to back up the important data before starting the work. Especially,
the results of the sub command executed by the parted command will be
reflected to the disk immediately. Take extreme care when operating it.
LVM is not supported.
1. Log in to the server as the root user. If you login with graphical mode, select [Others...] to login.
2. Execute the following command to set the slot 0 of the CPU/IO 0.
# parted /dev/disk/by-dpid/disk-104001
