Step 2 Set up the name programming and enter names.
2.1 0201 - Tenant Option Programming: Name Format on page 193.
- Determine how extension names should be entered in 1801 - Extension Name or via the
telephone. The options are 1 (rst name followed by last name) or 2 (last name followed by
rst name).
By default, the system expects names to be entered as rst name followed by last name (1).
2.2 1801 - Extension Port Description: Extension Name on page 198.
- Enter the name for each extension. The format you use should follow the setting of
0201 - Name Format.
By default, there are no names entered.
2.3 8006 - IntraMail Routing Mailboxes: Extension Name Match on page 230.
- Select the portion of the extension name on which the Directory Dialing Mailbox should
route. Enter 1 for rst; 2 for last. This option allows for dial-by-rst-name and dial-by-last-
name Directory Dialing.

For example, if 0201 - Name Format is 1 and the name in 1802 - Extension Name is
entered as rst name followed by last name, enter 2 in this option to set up last name dialing.
By default, the Directory Dialing Mailbox routes on the rst portion of the name (1).
Step 3 Set up Directory Lists to control which extensions Directory Dialing can access.
3.1 1808 - IntraMail Subscriber Mailbox Options: Directory List Number on page 206.

Select the Directory List to which the extension belongs. The entries are 1-8 (for lists 1-
8), 0 (for no list), or * (for all lists). Directory Dialing to the extension can occur only if
the list entry matches the setting in 8006 - Directory List Number to Use for the Direc-
tory Dialing Mailbox.
By default, extensions are not included in a Directory List (0).
3.2 8006 - IntraMail Routing Mailboxes: Directory List Number to Use on page 230.
- The Directory Dialing Mailbox can route calls only to the members of the Directory List
specied in this option. The entries are 1-8 ( for lists 1-8).
By default, the Directory Dialing Mailbox uses list 1.
Step 4 How many letters of the employee’s name must the caller dial?
4.1 8006 - IntraMail Routing Mailboxes: Minimum Number of Letters Required on page 230.
- Specify how many letters of an employee’s name the caller must dial to use Directory Dial-
ing. If the caller dials less than the specied minimum number of letters, IntraMail cannot
route the call. The entries are 1-3 (1-3 letters).
By default, callers must dial at least 1 letter of the employee’s name (1).
Step 5 When Directory Dialing nds a name match, should it route the call as a Screened or
Unscreened Transfer?

- Enter 2 to route the call as an Unscreened Transfer.
By default, IntraMail routes the call as a Screened Transfer (1).

- Enter 1 to route the call as a Screened Transfer.
By default, IntraMail routes the call as a Screened Transfer (1).
5.3 8006 - IntraMail Routing Mailboxes: Screened Transfer Timeout on page 231.
- Set how long a Screened Transfer from the Directory Dialing Mailbox will ring an unan-
swered extension before recalling. The entries are 1-255 seconds or 0 for no recall.
By default, the Screened Transfer Timeout interval is 15 seconds.
