7. Network Connections
This section describes the methods for connecting the software of the payment terminals to a network.
7.1 By Terminal Type
Table 4 shows all the types of network connections that the payment terminals can have.
NB: While terminal-related settings are mentioned, BAXI should also support the same set-up.

Ensure that the Ethernet cable is connected.
Now go to Function > Comms > Ethernet.
In the ECR menu, set ECR Comm as “IP Ethernet”.
Upon reboot, communication between the host and
ECR will be established.

BT Android BT Android Requires BAXI to be installed on Android phone.
Connect the phone and terminal via Bluetooth.

Wi-Fi IP Wi-Fi ECR and terminal must be connected to the same
Wi-Fi.
All terminals via ECR USB Slave USB must be connected to the terminal.
Then set ECR = True and Host Comm = USB from
Function menu.
NB: Corresponding settings in BAXI should also be
done to support this set-up e.g. COM port setting.

Desk/3500
Ethernet USB Slave Ethernet and USB cables must be connected to the
terminal.
Set Host Comm and ECR Comm type in the Function
menu.
All terminals
except portable
devices e.g. ICMP,
ISMP, Move or
IWL terminals.
Via ECR RS232 RS232 cable must be connected to BAXI.
Set COM port=1 in BAXI.ini. Port 1 is fixed for RS232
connection.
Set same Baud rate in ECR settings and BAXI.ini.
NB: For RS232 integration, a minimum baud rate of
57600 is required.
Now set the Host and ECR Comm types in the
Function menu.
iCT250E/G GPRS USB Slave SIM must be inserted in the terminal.
Set Host Comm and ECR Comm type in the Function
menu.
GPRS No This configuration is for standalone terminals.
