Bring analyzer in optical path
This adjustment is performed to determine the basic
performance of differential interference contrast method.
Perform carefully.
(1) Check that objective 40x and condenser position are
[OPEN]. If not, set 40x and [OPEN].
(2) The DIC slider must not be at the 40x objective position
of the nosepiece.
(3) Push in the analyzer slider to bring the analyzer back
into the optical path.
(4) Rotate the polarizer to bring it back into the optical
path.
(5) Loosen the polarizer rotation screw to rotate the
polarizer, align the line with to the symbol, and
then tighten the rotation clamp screw.
(6) Rotate the stage knob to move the specimen and bring
a portion where there is no sample under the cover
glass into the optical path.
(7) Adjust the attaching angle of the polarizer to the
microscope. Perform by one of the following methods:
[Method 1] Loosen the polarizer unit fixing screw with
a hex driver. Rotate the entire polarizer
unit while looking into the eyepiece, and
stop where the field of view is darkest.
[Method 2] Remove the eyepiece, and attach the
centering telescope. Stop down the
aperture diaphragm to the minimum, and
then, rotate the eyepiece section of the
centering telescope to focus on the
aperture diaphragm.
Open the aperture diaphragm to the
maximum.
Loosen the polarizer unit fixing screw
with a hex driver. Rotate the entire
polarizer unit, and stop when you see a
dark cross.
