Connection Descriptions
Connection Description
Security Slot Attach your security lock to this slot.
Line Port RJ 11 Jacks for telephone connection (fax terminal only). Connect the other end to the wall
connection.
Fax Port RJ 11 Jacks for fax device connection (fax terminal only). Connect the other end to the fax
device.
This port is intended for local On-Premises connection only and cannot be connected to
building cabling.
WARNING: Connecting the fax port to the building cabling voids the telecom
approval.
USB expansion port Use these ports to attach a USB keyboard or any other USB device.
Ethernet Expansion RJ 45 Jack enables terminal to be used as a hub. Connect the other end to the device that TPC
is controlling.
Ethernet to Wall RJ 45 Jack for Ethernet connection. Connect the other end of the cable to the wall jack.
Serial Port Standard serial communication port. If connecting a bar code reader, use this port.
WARNING: Do not plug a device in both the serial port AND the external reader port,
because doing so may cause electrical damage to TPC and/or your external device.
Device Control Cable Port Copy and scan control port. Connect your device-specific cable to this port.
External reader port If using a magstripe or proximity card reader, connect one end to this port, and the other end
to the reader.
Power Power supply connector
On/Off Switch Press once to turn TPC on, press again to turn TPC off.
LED Power Indicator Power indicator light with three states:
• Yellow - TPC has power, but is off
• Green - TPC has power and is on
• No light - TPC does not have power
Bypass Keyhole Insert the bypass key to change the operation mode to Administrative mode and bypass the
control mechanism.
