Power supply
1. Install the external dryer system near the socket. To be able to pull out the power plug in an emergency,
the power socket must be reached easily.
2. Do not share the power supply with noise generating devices such as a motor.
3. The characteristics of the power supply must meet the external dryer system specications.
4. Turn o the external dryer system monthly and check the following:
- The power plug is securely inserted into the socket.
- No dust is accumulated between the plug terminals and the socket. When dust is found, clean the area
with a dry cloth.
External dryer system
1. Do not place anything on the top of the external dryer system. Do not rest your elbows on the external
dryer system.
2. Handle the external dryer system with care and do not apply shock or excessive force to this system.
3. During the print operation, do not move the external dryer system. Otherwise, the ink will not dry
suciently.
4. Do not clean the cover’s surface with benzine, paint thinner, or a similar substance. This may damage
or deform the cover. Clean the cover using a soft cloth. If the cover is very dirty, wipe it with a cloth
moistened with water-diluted neutral detergent. If the cover is not cleaned regularly, the paint on the
cover surface may get damaged.
5. Always use OKI Data specied accessories and options. Products not specied by OKI Data may degrade
the image quality, cause a malfunction, and make maintenance impossible.
6. Read all these instructions before installing or using the external dryer system.

All wiring to the external dryer system must be connected to the electrical source in strict accordance
with all local electrical codes having jurisdiction.
z
Do not use extension cords to power the external dryer system.
z
Before installing the external dryer system, the user must be aware of the safety requirements specied
by local re codes.
z
Extreme caution is necessary when any the external dryer system is used by or near children or invalids
and whenever the external dryer system is left operating unattended.
z
Do not operate any the external dryer system after it malfunctions. Disconnect power at service panel
and have the external dryer system inspected by qualied technician.
z
Do not use outdoors.
z
To disconnect the external dryer system, turn off power to the external dryer system circuit at main
disconnect panel.
z
Do not insert or allow fording objects to enter any ventilation opening as this may cause an electric
shock of re, or damage to the external dryer system.
z
The external dryer system has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use in areas where
gasoline, paint, or ammable vapors or liquids are used or stored.
z
Use the external dryer system only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause re, electric shock, or injur to persons.
Extra ionizer and edge sensors maintenance
Due to solvent ink characteristics, inspection and maintenance need to be performed periodically. (For
details on the maintenance, see the Maintenance section starting on page 55.)
