Overview of the authentication function

Individual users of the Printer are issued a unique authentication code (a PIN code
or login name and password). When a user operates the Printer, the authentication
code is required to identify the user.
With the authentication function, users without an authentication code cannot
operate the Printer.
The PIN code and password authentication functions can be used together with
the smart card option.
Example: The two following authentication methods are possible
when the smart card function option is used together with PIN code
authentication.
- The users enter directly a PIN code on the operation panel to
authenticate themselves.
- The users use smart cards to authenticate themselves.
