3 Pre-observation/pre-operation
preparation and inspection
Be sure to finish the preparation and inspection work described in this chapter before using the
instrument. At the first sign of any abnormality, immediately stop using the instrument and perform
the required actions as described in "7 Troubleshooting" (P. 37).
Inspections are not only required before use, but should be conducted periodically.
CAUTION
• Make sure the instrument is turned off before performing pre-observation and pre-operation preparation
and inspection.
3.1 Pre-observation preparation
Preparing the power supply
Using the battery
A Push down the battery door lock to open the battery door.
B Load the battery according to the direction indicated on the battery terminal while paying
attention to the orientation of the battery.
C Press the battery from above until a “click” sound is heard. After the battery is correctly loaded,
close the battery door.
z Removing the battery
A Press the stopper on the left.
B With the stopper pressed and held down, lift the battery, and
release your hand from the stopper.
C Unload the battery.
Remove the instrument from its carrying case.
