Theoretical lateral resolution:
wavelength(nm)
2(NA)
Wavelength = emission, in nanometers, usually the central wavelength of the emission band of the
barrier filter.
NA = numerical aperture of the objective lens.
Examples:
Using a 20X/NA0.75 objective with the green channel, 540 nm/2X.75 = 540 nm/1.5 = 360 nm lateral
resolution (0.36 µm).
Zoom factor for 2X oversampling = Pixel size
