Assumed cause Remedy Prevention
There is insufficient power supply
voltage for the external encoder.
Provide the required external encoder
power supply voltage of 5 VDC 5%
(4.75 to 5.25 V).
Provide the required external encoder
power supply voltage of 5 VDC 5%
(4.75 to 5.25 V).
Noise is entering on the external
encoder connector cable.
If the motor cable and the external
encoder cable are bundled together,
separate them. Connect the shield to
FG.
If the motor cable and the external
encoder cable are bundled together,
separate them. Connect the shield to
FG.
The external encoder failed. If none of the above causes applies,
replace the external encoder.
