80mmHg (step 10mmHg), at each setting verify that the actual reading
of the gauge corresponds to the preset value within
±
±±
±
2 mmHg. Stop
the air injection.
2. SILICONE TAMPONADE Connect a pressure gauge with a full scale
of at the least 5bar and a resolution equal or better of 0.1bar. Enable
the Silicone oil injection by depressing the Silicone button in the GUI.
Set the injection pressure from 1bar to 5bar (step 1bar), at each
setting activate the injection by depressing the Silicone switch on the
footswitch and verify that the actual reading of the gauge corresponds
to the preset value within
±
±±
±
0.2bar
3. VITRECTOMY VALVE Select repetitive mode (no single cut) and all
cut rates from 60 to 4000 cut/min, at each setting, depress the
footswitch beyond switch #2 and verify that the valve actuates.
4. PERISTALTIC PUMP Do not install the aspiration cassette, select
peristaltic aspiration mode and a vacuum of 100mmHg or more. Verify
that pump starts at switch #2 and stops immediately when the
footswitch is released. Verify that pump rotating speed increases as
flow rate is increased (at 50cc/min the rotation speed should be 80rpm
approx.).
5. VENTURI PUMP AND VALVES Select I/A mode, install the aspiration
cassette, select Venturi aspiration mode and a vacuum of 100mmHg
or more.
Verify that:
•
Irrigation valve (close to the front of the equipment) is activated
(de-energized) at switch #1 of the footswitch (waterflow
start/stops at the touch of the footswitch).
•
The peristaltic pump moves backward/forward at switch #2 of
the footswitch. The Venturi pump starts aspiration at the same
time, it is possible to ear the air flow.
•
Reflux valve (middle valve) is activated (de-energized) by
pushing the footswitch paddle ton the heel.
6. SCISSORS VALVE Select “Scissors”, repetitive mode (no single cut)
and all cut rates from 60 to 310cut/min, at each setting, depress the
footswitch beyond switch #2 and verify that the scissors valve
actuates.
7. ASPIRATION Select “I/A” mode, install a disposable cassette, connect
a vacuum gauge (i.e. a mercury column gauge) to the aspiration line
from the cassette.
