6.4.3 SECONDARY PRESSURE REGULATOR CALIBRATION
The secondary pressure regulator (Fig.4, ref.5) adjusts the output pressure for
the pneumatic vitreous cutter and microscissors. This calibration is performed
in Vitrectomy mode.
1. Connect a pressure gauge (at the least 5bar, 72.5PSI full scale) to the
Vit output.
2. Loose the Phillips screw on the Secondary Pressure Regulator and rotate
the knob fully counterclockwise.
3. Slowly rotate the knob of the secondary pressure regulator to read 2±
±±
±
0.1bar (29±1.45PSI).
CAUTION: The pressure regulator has a noticeable hysteresis, after each
adjustment of the knob position, shortly depress the main paddle of the
footswitch beyond position #2 to activate air flow.
4.
Tighten the Phillips screw on the knob of the regulator and secure it
with a drop of enamel.
6.4.4 PROPORTIONAL VALVE CALIBRATION
In the “Proportional Valve Setting” frame, select “Set 1023”, connect a digital
volt meter between pin 1 and 3 of the J16 connector of the 393200 Control
board.
1. Adjust the R110 trimmer to read 10±
±±
±0.05V
Connect the volt meter on pins 4(Gnds) and 7 of U12
2. Adjust R117 to read 5±
±±
±0.02V
Connect a digital pressure gauge to the rear panel “Air Output”
connector, using the up/down arrow keys in the “Proportional Valve
Setting” frame, set a pressure of 100±0.1mBar.
3. Adjust R122 to read 100mBar in the “Internal” indicator of the
“Pressure” frame.
