• About AF area selection
You can select the AF area when [[_],
[E_H], [E_] or [[_] is selected.
O Press the focus switch button until the
focus mode appears and then press
A/V to select [AF] or [AF MACRO].
When selecting [[_]
You can select AF areas as shown in the
following illustration by tilting the joystick
towards A/V/_I/•.
Select AF area with • on the joystick
and then press the center of the joystick.
Move the AF area with the cursor
buttons or A/V/_I/• on the joystick.

O Press [MENU/SET] or press the center
of the joystick to set.
When selecting [E_], [I H] or [[_]
You can select 1 AF area from the 11 areas.

• The spot metering target can also be
moved to match the AF area when using
[1_1].
• The following operations will return the AF
area to the previous position.
-When the mode dial is set to simple
mode [V]
-When the power save mode is activated
-When this unit is turned off
Press [_] te display the [REC] mode
menu and select the item to set. (P76)
This mode allows you te compose a picture
more easily by always focusing on the
subject.
The time required for focusing when the
shutter button is pressed halfway will be
reduced when the AF mode is set to
[I_H], [1_] or[Fq].
• The [[_1] indication appears when it is set
to [ON].
