Attaching the Lens Cap/Strap
n Lens Cap

Pass the string through the hole
on the lens cap.

Pass the string through the hole
on the camera.

Attach the lens cap.
n Strap

Pass the strap through the hole at
the Strap Eyelet.
• Check that the strap is firmly attached to
the camera.
• When you turn the camera off, carry the camera or play back the pictures, attach the lens
cap to protect the surface of the lens.
• Detach the lens cap before turning on the camera in the recording mode.
• When the mode dial is set to one of the recording modes and the camera is turned on with
the lens cap attached, the message [REMOVE LENS CAP AND PRESS q BUTTON]
appears. After removing the lens cap, press the q cursor button.
• Be careful not to lose the lens cap.
