• Connecting the Camco_er to
Personal Computer (For Use as a Web
Camera)
1 Install the supplied WebCam Driver on the
providedCD-ROM.
2 Set the Mode Dial to Tape Recording Mode.
3 Set [CAMERA] >> [USB FUNCTION] >>
[WEB CAMERA],

4 Connect the Camcorder to personal
computer with auxiliary USB Connection
Cable.
eWhen the Carncorder and personal
computer (with Windows 2000[ are
connected via USB Cable, a message, such
as the one below, is displayed. However,
testing by the manufacturer has confirmed
functionality of this Carncorder with
Windows 2000. Click [YP._] and proceed.
• For Windows g8SE/Nle users, "USB Audio
Device" is required. Click [Nest] and
proceed.
For Windows 98SFJ_e Users
The following mess;.tges m;.ty be displayed during
the installation depending on the environment Of
the personal camputer. Install fhe USB Brk_er as
instructed below. Otherwise, if won't be insfalled
correclly.

• if the %:sfvtune.;.t'tx"file ;smissing in one of
the 2 above-monUoned folders, insert the
OS CD-ROM and assign the path.
2) Themessage"Thefile'kacleckf.ax'en
[Unknown] cannot be found..." is
displayed.
• Enter "C:\Wi ndow_systc m".
• if the "Ksclcokf.ax" file ismissing in the
above mentioned folder, incort the OS
CD-ROM and assign the path.
• You may click [Browse] to look for and assign
the pafh.
5 Start Windows Messenger or MSN
Messenger.

• When you use Windows XF, the of her parties
via fhe network have to use Windows
Messenger on Windows XP. When you use an
opcmfing system other than Windows XP, the
other parties via the network have fo use MSN
Messenger on an OS other than Windows XP.
• If thoCamcordor is used as a Web Camera, the
quality of the video to be exchanged will depend
on the Intcrnct connection stafus.
• If fhe USB Connection Cable is disconnected
from fhe person;.tl compufer, WEB CAMERA
modo is cancelled.
• In fho WEB CAMERA mode, video cannot be
recorded onfo a rape or a card.
•You cannotoutputthe videoinpuffrom fho DV
terminal to the display of the PC.
• In fho WEB CAMERA mode, fhe audio m;.ty bc
interrupted infho middle of communicafion
depending on fhe communication environment
or the performance of the personal computer.
• Setting up Windows Messenger
Whcn sfarting Windows Messcnger for the firsf
time, its setup screcn is displayed. (Howovcr, fhe
screen is not displayed if fho Windows
Messenger sofup has alre;.tdy been done.)
1 Click[Olickberetesign in].
2 Select [.NET Messaging Service] and click
[OK].
