Cases not suited for face matching
The performance of the face matching function varies depending on such conditions as the camera installation, camera settings,
camera adjustment, surroundings and photographic subjects. Therefore, face matching may not be performed in the following
cases.
• Illuminancelevelsaredispersed.(Example:Outdoors)
• Facesareinterruptedbysuchobjectsasmedicalmasks,sunglassesorhelmets.
• Facesarenotdirectedtothefrontside.
• Photographicsubjectsaremovingquickly.
• Stronglightsources(suchastheheadlightsofacar,risingsunlightorsettingsunlight)mayaffecttheshootingplacefrom
outside.
To improve the performance of face matching
• Registerthetargetfaceimagesfromtheimagesrecordedbythecamerainstalledinthesameconditions.
• Performsettingsforthecamerasothatthecameracanshootfaceimagesatabalancedilluminancelevelbothintheday-
time and nighttime.
• Installthecamerasothatthecameracanmovewithintheassumedmovingpathwayofphotogenicsubjects.
• Ifpeople'sfacesareprintedonaposter,performthesettingfor"Setuparea"(☞ page 58) so that these faces are not target-
ed for face matching.
