Magazine Side Guides
Note: Long & Short Side Guides: To sim plify the magazine load ing pro cess, the
magazine side guides, which con trol the blanks in the magazine, are dif fer ent
sizes. The short side guide is lo cated on the load side for ease in re fill ing the
magazine bed with new blanks. The long side guide or magazine side guide is
lo cated on the op po site side to sup port the whole length of a board in the
magazine. The load side may be on ei ther the right or the left side of the ma chine.
Note: Constant Side: The constant side of the horizontal magazine is always located on
the same side as the flap kickers. Changes in the flap width dimension of the case
affect the side guide on the constant side of the machine.
When setting up a new case use a straight edge to align the constant side
magazine side guide to the machine scoreline constant plate. See Machine
Constants.
Note: Non-Constant Side: The non-constant side of the horizontal magazine is the open
depth dimension of the case. Changes in the open depth dimension of the case
affect the side guide on the open depth side of the machine.
