7. Equalizer
TheIS16providesa4-bandparametricequalizeroneachinputchannel,Multi1to8outputsandMainMix.Allparametersareadjusted
using the data encoders or touch-screen. Users are able to select a boost or cut of up to 18 dB on frequencies between 20 Hz and 20kHz.
A31-bandequalizerisalsoavailableontheMainoutput,andcanbeselectedbyenteringthePatchmenuandchangingtheOrdersettings
toincludetheGEQinsteadoftheEQ.TheQofthesesignalscanalsobeadjustedtogiveawiderornarrowerband,asnecessary.
7.1 Signal Source
Hereuserscanselectwhichchannel’sEQtoset.Anequalizercanbeappliedtoanyoftheinputchannels,anyoftheMultioutputsand
the main mix.
7.2 EQ On/Off Button
This button can turn the Equalizer for the currently selected channel on and off.
7.3 EQ Grid/Curve
HereuserscanviewtheEQcurve.Thesmallcirclesthatappearonthegraphrepresentoneofthefourbands,andcanhelptoeffectively
adjustthefrequencyandboost/cutpropertiesofthatparticularband.Thetouchscreencanbeusedtohelpadjustthebands.
7.4 EQ Band On and Off
UsethesebuttonstoturnthecorrespondingEQbandsonandoff.Whilenotnamedspecically,thesebandscanbethoughtofasthelow,
low-mid,high-midandhighfrequencybandsonyouraverage4-bandEQ.
7.5 EQ Type
FortherstandfourthbandsontheEQ,userscanselectthetypeofcurveusedfortheEQ.
Band1:EQBand(PEAK),LowShelfFilter(SHELF),HighPassFilter(CUT)
Band4:EQBand(PEAK),HighShelfFilter(SHELF),LowPassFilter(CUT)
TheLow/HighPassFilterswillcutfrequenciesaboveandbelowtheselectedfrequenciesat18dBperoctave.HighandLowShelflters
actsimilarly,butcutfrequenciesbelowtheselectedfrequencybythepresetleveldeterminedbytheuser.
7.6 EQ Parameters
TheEQoffersuserstheabilitytovieworeditvariousparameters/propertiesoftheirEQbands,includingtheGain,thefrequencyandthe
‘Q’oftheEQfrequency.Thefollowingparametertableoffersdetailsontherangeavailabletousersoneachparameter.
