TURNING

THE
POWER
Operations
indicated
by
the

are
performed
with
the
remote
control
unit.

ensure
that
speakers,
antenna,
etc.,
are
connected
properly.
Press
the
POWER
switch.

switch
the
power
OFF:

the
STANDBY

see
the
clock
display
in
this
unit.

the
DISPLAY/RDS
CLOCK
ADJ
button
to
see
the
clock
display.
Turning
power
ON
without
using
the
POWER
switch
Performing
any
of
the
following
operations
while
the
system
power
is
off
(STANDBY)
turns
the
power
ON.
If
a
CD
has
been
loaded,
it
starts
to
play.
The
tuner
(radio)
input
is
selected.
If
a
cassette
tape
has
been
loaded,
it
starts
to
play.
Ifthe
connected
component
is
operating,
it
startsto
play.
Play
starts
if
there
is
a
CD
in
the
selected
5-disc
access.
The
function
which
has
been
selected
beforethe
last
time
the
power
was
switched
off
is
selected
and
the
corresponding
opera-
tion
starts.
@When
power
is
OFF
(Standby),
press
the
SLOT
EJECT
button,
and
power
switches
ON,
letting
you
remove
a
disc.
Also,
when
power
is
OFF
(Standby),
if
you
load
a
CD
in
the
Plus
1
Disc
Slot,
Power
automatically
switches
ON,
and
play
starts.
TUNING
INTO
STATIONS

Be
sure
to
connect
the
antennas.

not
place
the
AM
antenna
on
a
metallic
case
including
the
receiver
cabinet
or
near
a
CD
player,
LD
player,
DAT
recorder,
personal
computer
or
TV
set.
Any
of
these
installations
will
cause
noise
in
reception.

MONO
button
(Remote
control
unit
only)
During
FM
reception:
Switches
between
stereo
and
monaural
modes
when
listening
to-a
stereo
broadcast.
If
there
is
a
lot
of
noise
in
the
stereo
position,
switch
to
MONO,
and
the
noise
will
be
suppressed.
Beat
cut
function
If
noise
occurs
during
recording
an
AM
broadcast,
perform
the
foliowing
procedures
to
reduce
the
noise.
1.
Press
the
POWER
switch
on
this
unit
so
that
the
STANDBY
indicator
lights
up.
2.
Turn
on
the
power
while
pressing
the
STATION
MEMORY
button.
(The
BEAT
CUT
indicator
lights.)

cancel
the
BEAT
CUT
function,
repeat
steps
1
and
2.
