Pum p Removal -- Continued
8. Remove the pump extension housing, if applicable.
Remove the driveshaft by pulling straight outward.
NOTE: Driveshaft removal is simplified with the help of an
assistant pushing the driveshaft outward from inside the
engine compartment.
9. To remove the pump housing from the hull, remove the
four pump housing nuts from inside the engine
compartment.
NOTE: Pump housing removal is only necessary when the
housing requires replacement or the seal between the
housing and hull has been compromised. Refer to inlet
scoop / ride plate removal and installation section in this
chapter.
10. Using a hot air gun along with a small pry bar , remove
the pump housing from the hull.
CAUTION:
Do not overheat the area where the hull meets the pump
housing. Use light force when prying the pump housing
loose as not to damage the hull.
