  If your ProFire Controller system shows a visible flame but doesn't detect it, ensure the flame rod, pilot assembly, and the gap between them are fully engulfed in flame; adjust the rod positioning if needed. Also, check that the flame detection wiring doesn't exceed the recommended maximum length and that the Ion+ wire is securely connected as per the wiring diagram. Verify the ground connection between the PF2100 and the pilot assembly is secure. You can also put the PF2100 into Manual Mode and use the Review Menu to check the flame quality level.

  A high/low voltage message shutdown on your ProFire Controller system can occur if the system voltage setting doesn't match the power supply’s nominal voltage. Ensure these settings align. Also, make sure that some other load is not causing the supply to drop periodically by removing other devices from the supply or monitoring the supply voltage with a data logger. Verify the power supply is appropriately rated for the valves and other peripheral devices attached to the PF2100. It is also recommended to check that the system has the latest firmware. Firmware older than v1.8.005 was prone to shutdown on transient voltage spikes and dips.

Ensure no thermocouple pairs are crossed, and use only Type-k thermocouple wire and connectors. If a head connection is used, check for wiring issues there as well. Try a different thermocouple that is known to be good or by connecting the suspect thermocouple to a process calibrator. Finally, check that the PF2100 is in proper calibration using a process calibrator. If not, recalibrate the system.

  If the valves on your ProFire Controller are not opening, check if the positive and negative wires are reversed. Also, make sure each valve has a separate negative return wire connected to the correct terminal, as a common ground wire cannot be used. Verify the proper PWM setting is used for each valve, and ensure the valve voltage ratings match the system voltage (12V or 24V).

  If the expected battery life is not achieved with your ProFire Controller, it may be because the PF2100 is not set up by default to use low power valves with a PWM setting of 20%. Also, the PF2100 might not be set up to put the display to sleep when not in use. The solar panel could be undersized, shaded, or not located in full sun.

Also, verify that proper system grounding is in place, especially ensuring that all solenoids are connected to earth ground.
