7. Cleaning Beneath Heat Exchanger
Frequency:Monthlyorafterburning1tonoffuel

a. Besuretheapplianceisallowedtocool,hasbeen
unpluggedandtheexhaustblowerisoff
b. Amorethoroughcleaningisneededtoremovethe
excess ash that is left behind from the use of the
cleaningrodsfortheheatexchangertubes.
c. Theashwillberestingonthebackofthebafe.This
willrequireremovingthecastbafe.
a.Allow the appliance to completely cool down before
pullingthecleaningrods. Turnthethermostatonand
thenimmediatelyofftostarttheexhaustbloweronits
cycletime.Itwillpullyashouttheexhaustinstead
ofintotheroom.
b. Locatethe2exposedrodsdirectlyunderneaththeheat
exchangertubes.Figure 14.1.
c.To clean, pull the rods straight outuntil it stops,
approximately203mm.SlidetherodsOUTandINa
coupleoftimes.

A combination of sawdust and pellets on the auger
reducestheamountoffuelsupplytotherepot.This

a. The appliance must be in complete shutdown.
Allowtheappliancetocompletelycooldown.
b. Emptythehopperofanyremainingpellets.
c. Vacuumthehopperandfeedtube.
9. Cleaning the Glass
