ADJUSTMENTS
Read the safety instructions
FAN BELT TENSION
The tension on the belt is correct when the belt can be
depressed 7 to 9mm (0.28 - 0.35in) under a load of
10kgf (22lbs) midway between the crankshaft pulley
and the alternator pulley.
To adjust:
(a) Release the two bolts (A Fig.42) holding the
alternator and adjust alternator until the tension
is correct.
(b) Re-tighten the bolts securely after adjusting.
PARKING BRAKE AND BRAKES (Fig.43)
The parking brake should always be kept in good
working order.
If the brakes require adjustment this can be carried out
by one of the following methods:
1.
a. Put the handbrake in the 'off' position
(fully down)
b. loosen the locknut (A) where the brake
cable enters the brake lever.
c. Turn adjuster (B) to obtain correct
adjustment. In to loosen, out to
tighten.
d. retighten locknut (A).
2.
a. Put the handbrake in the 'off' position
(fully down)
b. turn the slotted screw in the
handle end with a screwdriver (C). Do
this in two turn increments to avoid
overloading the system.
