3 Advanced Operation
Waypoint names
If waypoint names have been allocated, the ST7001+ will display
them on the Cross Track Error (
XTE), Bearing To Waypoint (BTW) and
Distance To Waypoint (
DTW) data pages:
waypoint names of five characters or less are displayed together
with the page name (as shown by screen A below)
waypoint names of more than five characters alternate with
the page name (as shown by screen B below)
if the waypoint name has more than nine characters, the display
only shows the first nine characters
Watch timer
The ST7001+ has a Watch timer controlled by the WATCH data page.
This timer sounds a warning every 4 minutes, requiring a keypad
press on the autopilot.
Setting the Watch timer
To set the Watch timer:
1. First, you must configure the
WATCH screen as one of the data
pages for display (see page 81).
2. When you have done this select Auto, Track or Wind Vane mode.
3. Press the
disp key until you see the WATCH data page:
the watch timer will start counting
when the timer reaches 3 minutes, the
WATCH text starts
flashing to indicate that the timer is in the last minute
when the timer reaches 4 minutes, the ST7001+ activates the
audible Watch warning
