Theinstrumentdisplay’sspeedreadingscanbe
calibratedusinga1pointcalibrationprocess,inmost
situationthisisallthatwillberequiredtocalibrate
ourspeedreadings.
Prerequisites:
•ForbestresultsSOGdatashouldbeavailable,or
analternativemethodofestimatingvesselspeed
mustbeused(e.g.vesselspeedcanbeestimated
usingNauticalMeasuredMileMarkersorsimilar
landmarksofaknowndistanceapart).
•Youwillneedtobeunderway,withsufcientspace
tomaneuverunhindered.
•Inordertoachieveaccurateresults,water
conditionsmustbecalmwithzerotideandzero
current.
FromtheUserCalibrationMenu:
1.Steeryourvesselonasteadycourseata
constanttypicalspeed.
2.PresstheSpeedbuttonuntil1oftheCurrent
Speedpagesisdisplayed(4pressesfromthe
UserCalibrationentrypage).

beusedtohelpcalibrateLogSpeed.Nautical
measuredmilemarkersareidentiedbytwopairsof
postsortowers.Thedistancebetweeneachpairof
markersis1nauticalmile.
Eachmarkerinapairisseparatedbydistanceand
elevationfromitspartner.Thefrontmarkeriscloser
tothewaterandshorterthanthemarkerbehindit.
