Planinghullvessels,andsomedisplacementhullvessels,adoptahigherbowanglewhenthevessel
isatcruisingspeed.ThismayraisetheR adar’smainradiationangle,andcancausepoordetection
ofnearbytargets.Itmaybenecessarytocompensateforthebowrisetoensureoptimumtarget
detection.Thiscanbeachievedbyfittingawedgeorwashersbetweenthemountingplatformand
thebaseoftheRadarscanner,sothattheRadarbeamremainsparalleltothewaterlinewhenthe
vessel'sbowrisesatcruisingspeed.

Multiplescannersshouldbemountedinawaythatminimizesinterferencebetweenthevertical
beamwidthsofthe2scanners.
Inallcases,youshouldaimtoachieveasmuchphysicalseparationaspossible,tominimize
anypotentialinterference.
