AdditionalconsiderationsapplywheninstallingtheRadarscanneronasailingvessel.
•WhenmountingtheRadarscannerunitontothemast,checkthattheunitisnotfouledbythe
sails,especiallywhentacking.
•Dependingonthetypeofsailingvesselandthedesignofthesailplan,aRadarscannerguard
shouldbeattachedtothemastifthesailsorriggingcontacteithertheRadarscannerunitor
themountingbracket.WithoutaproperRadarguard,seriousdamagecanresulttotheRadar
mountingbracketandtheRadaritself.Inextremecases,suchdamagecouldresultintheRadar
scannerunitbeingpulledoffthemast.Therefore,itisrecommendedthataRadarscannerguard
shouldbemountedadditionallyandseparatelytotheRadarscannermountingbracket.
•TopreventtheriskoftheRadarscannerunitfallingafterithasbeendamaged,thesecuritylanyard
suppliedwiththemastbracketMUSTbesecuredproperlytothemastandtotheRadarscanner
unit,accordingtotheinstructionsprovidedwiththebracket.Ifasafetylanyardisnotsupplied
withthemountingbracket,contactyourlocaldealerforappropriateparts.DoNOTattachother
equipmenttoeithertheRadarscannerunitorthebracket.
•Raymarinestronglyrecommendsthatyouchecktheconditionandsecurityofthebracket
mountingfeet,thesecuritylanyard(s),theRadarscannerguard,andtheRadarscannerunititself,
onayearlybasis(ormorefrequentlydependingonenvironmentalapplications).Anyfittings
shouldbereplacedasappropriate.

typicalmountingbracket,aRadarguardattachedtothemast(separatelytotheRadarmounting
