3.9Generallocationrequirements
Importantconsiderationswhenchoosingasuitablelocationforyourproduct.
Thisproductissuitableformountingaboveorbelowdeck

Theproductshouldbemountedwhereitwillbe:
protectedfromphysicaldamageandexcessivevibration.

maintainingasuitabledistancebetweenthisproductandanycompassesonyourvessel.
Powertokeepcablerunstoaminimum,theproductmustbelocatedascloseaspossibletothe
vessel’sdcpowersupply.
Mountingsurfaceensuretheproductisadequatelysupportedonasecuresurface.Refertothe
weightinformationprovidedinthe
Technicalspecification
forthisproductandensurethatthe
intendedmountingsurfaceissuitableforbearingtheproductweight.DoNOTmountunitsorcut
holesinplaceswhichmaydamagethestructureofthevessel.
Cableroutingrequirements
Considerthefollowingbeforeinstallingthesystemcables:
Y ouwillneedtoattachpower,transducerandnetworkcablestotheunit.
Thetransducercableshouldonlybeextendedwherethesonarmodulecannotbeinstalledclose
enoughtothetransducertoallowadirectconnection.
Allcablesshouldbeadequatelysecured,protectedfromphysicaldamage,andprotectedfrom
exposuretoheat.
Avoidsharpbendsincables.
Useawatertightfeed-throughwhereveracablepassesthroughanexposedbulkheador
deckhead.
Securecablesinplaceusingtie-wrapsorlacingtwine.Coilanyextracableandtieitoutoftheway.
DoNOTruncablesthroughbilgesordoorways,orclosetomovingorhotobjects.
DoNOTruncablesneartoenginesorfluorescentlights.
Alwaysroutedatacablesasfarawayaspossiblefrom:
