"Automatic" mode
The default "Automatic" mode enables
optimaluseundernormalroadcondi
tions (dry, wet, light snow, etc.).
"Automatic" mode uses traction control
functions.
After the engine stops, the
vehicle will always restart in
"Automatic" mode.
"Soft ground" mode
Press and hold switch

warning light and, depending on the
vehicle, the warning light appear
on the instrument panel accompanied
by the "Grip Extend Loose Surface
ON" message. This position enables
optimal usage on soft ground (mud,
sand,deadleaves,etc.).Inthisposi
tion, engine speed is left under the
driver's control.
If switch

is pressed again, the
warning light and, depending on the
vehicle, the warning light go out
andthemessage"GripExtendTrac
tionControl"appearsontheinstru
ment panel to warn you.
Hill start assistance
Dependingonthegradientofthein
cline, this system assists the driver
when starting on a hill. It prevents the
vehiclefromrollingbackwards,de
pending on the slope, by automatically
applyingthebrakeswhenthedriverre
leasesthebrakepedaltopresstheac
celerator pedal.
System operation
It only operates when the gear lever is
in a position other than neutral and the
vehicle is completely stationary (brake
pedal depressed).
Thesystemholdsthevehicleforap
proximately two seconds. The brakes
arethengraduallyreleased(thevehi
cle will move according to the slope).
The hill start assistance
systemcannotcomplete
ly prevent the vehicle
from rolling backwards in
all situations (extremely steep
gradients etc.).
Inallcases,thedrivermayde
press the brake pedal to prevent
thevehiclefromrollingback
wards.
The Hill Start Assist function
should not be used for prolonged
stops: use the brake pedal.
This function is not designed to
immobilisethevehicleperma
nently.
If necessary, use the brake pedal
to stop the vehicle.
Thedrivermustremainparticular
ly vigilant when driving on slippery
or low-grip surfaces.
