18. Connect the barrier air pipes to the outlet of the air preparation pack using the T-ttings and pneumatic
adaptor ttings as appropriate.
19. Fit conduit clamps to secure the conduit in position on the table of the machine. This will ensure that
loads are not transferred to the NC4 unit when the machine operates.
Installing the NCi-6 interface unit
WARNING: Before installing the NCi-6 interface unit, ensure that the machine is safe to work on. Switch
off machine power when working in the controller cabinet.
The NCi-6 interface unit should be installed in the CNC controller cabinet. Where possible, locate the unit
away from potential sources of interference such as transformers and motor controllers.
The NCi-6 interface unit processes signals from the NC4 unit and converts them into a voltage-free solid
state relay (SSR) output. This is transmitted to the CNC machine controller.
Install and congure the NCi-6 interface unit as described in the NCi-6 non-contact tool setting interface
installation and user’s guide (Renishaw part no. H-6516-8500).
