9. Unit’s disposal
When the unit arrives at the end of its time of use and requires removal and replacement, a
series of steps must be followed:
refrigerant gas contained in it should be recovered by specialised personnel
and sent to collection facilities;
lubrication oil for compressors must also be recovered and sent to collection
facilities;
the structure and the various components, if useless, should be scrapped
and divided depending on their type: this is particularly applied for copper
and aluminium present in high amounts in the machine.
All this is required to facilitate collection, disposal and recycling and to minimize the
environmental impact that this operation implies.
At every replacement of any unit element subject to differentiated waste disposal, it is required
to always refer to the applicable provisions of law.
Remember it is compulsory to register the load and unload of special and toxic-harmful waste.
Specifically authorized companies must collect special and toxic-harmful waste.
Special and toxic-harmful waste must be disposed of in compliance with the legal dispositions
in force in the user's country.
Follow the prescriptions set-out by the laws in the user's country to disassemble the unit.
Request the inspection of the authorized body before demolition and consequent verbalization.
In accordance with the current legal dispositions in the user's country, proceed with scrapping.
9.1 Environmental protection
The law regulating [reg. EC 2037/00] the use of harmful substances of the stratospheric ozone
and gases responsible for greenhouse effect, establishes the prohibition to disperse the cooling
gases in the environment and forces the holder to recover them and deliver them, at the end of
their operational duration, to the dealer or appropriate collection centres.
Although it is not damaging for the ozone layer, the refrigerant R134a is mentioned among the
substances responsible for the greenhouse effect and must be subjected to the above
obligations.
