RS232 SERIAL INTERFACE
RS232 SERIAL INTERFACE
The ACA-E5 supports RS232 communication with various third-party
automation systems through the RS232 ports. These ports are also used
for firmware updates, and for controller programming through the SCS-E5
software program.
The two RS232 serial ports are located on the back of the ACA-E5 and
use a DB-9 cable connection.
The RS232 A port supports a standard 19.2 kHz baud rate, and is used for
third-party automation functions, and co-processor and firmware updates.
The RS232 B port supports a high-speed 115.2 kHz baud rate, and is
used for programming.
PROGRAMMING SELECTOR SWITCH
The ACA-E5 can be programmed through either the rear-panel RS232 B
serial port or the front-panel USB port.
The programming interface selector switch on the front-panel Programming
Center must be set to the port to be used for programming.
