In addition, the red signal LED in the test button on the front of
the smoke detector (see (E) in the illustration on page 45) flashes
approximately once every 48 seconds. This indicates that the
device is ready for operation
8.4 Teach-in process for additional smoke detectors
8.4.1 Connecting multiple smoke detectors to create a wire-
less network
If you want to register the smoke detectors with the central
control unit, the smoke detectors must not be connected
to each other beforehand. In this case, they are networked
via the central control unit
During the teach-in process, the smoke detectors should
be positioned at least 1 metre away from each other. This
helps to improve the reception of the wireless signals.
To teach-in two smoke detectors, start by briefly pressing the but-
ton on the wireless module (see (J) in the illustration on page 48)
on one of the smoke detectors. Within 20 seconds, briefly press
the button on the wireless module of the other smoke detector.
Once the teach-in process has been successfully completed, the
