7.4 Perceptibility
To test the acoustic properties of your chosen installation loca-
tion, you can trigger a test alarm (see Chapter 8.7. “Checking the
operation of the smoke detector”) while a person is asleep in the
bedroom. It is absolutely essential that the smoke detector can
wake people up – it cannot merely be ‘just audible’!
7.5 Testing the wireless signal to the central control unit
Finally, you must thoroughly test each smoke detector in its
installation location to make sure that it can always establish a
wireless connection with the central control unit.
7.6 Unsuitable installation locations
To safeguard against the risk of false alarms, the smoke detector
should not be installed in the following rooms/locations:
