Ryobi RM480e - Removing the Cutting Deck

WARNING
Do not at any time let brake uids, gasoline,
petroleum-based products, and penetrating
oils, come in contact with plastic parts.

Remove any build-up of grass and leaves on
or around the motor cover. Wipe the mower
clean with a dry cloth occasionally. Do not use
water.
ADJUSTING CUTTING DECK WHEELS
See fig. 22
The cutting deck wheels should be positioned
approximately 1.27 cm (1/2 in.) o󰀨 the ground
when the mower is at the preferred cutting
height to minimize the chance of scalping the
lawn in most situations. When shipped, the
wheels are positioned in Position A.
To adjust the cutting deck wheels:
1. Park the product on a level surface and
set the parking brake.
2. Turn off the product, and remove the start
key. Make sure that all moving parts have
come to a complete stop.
3. Set the cutting deck to the preferred
height setting.
4. Remove the nut and bolt that holds the
cutting deck wheel in place.
5. Move the wheel to preferred position.
Available hole positions are:
● 3.81 cm. (1.5 in.) (A)
● 4.44 cm (1.75 in.) (B)
● 5.08 cm. (2 in.) (C)
● 5.72 cm (2.25 in.) (D).
6. Reinstall and securely tighten the bolt and
nut to 5.42-8.13 Nm (4-6 ft. lbs.) torque.
7. Repeat the steps with the remaining
cutting deck wheel, making sure that both
wheels are installed in the same position.

REMOVING THE CUTTING DECK

The cutting deck can be removed from the
mower to easily access the blades when
replacing.
1. Make sure direction control switch is in
neutral (N) position and blade engage
knob is down.
2. Turn off the product, set the parking
brake, and remove the start key. Make
sure that all moving parts have come to a
complete stop.
3. Disconnect the cables that connect the
cutting deck to the mower.
4. Set the cutting deck to the lowest height.
5. Remove the 4 hitch pins and washers that
secure the cutting deck in place.
6. Slide the deck out from under the mower.
Reverse the steps to reinstall the cutting deck
to the mower.
