Mounting and start-up
The degree of protection IP54 can only be
achieved up to device index .03 when the
actuator is installed in the upright position.
See the last two gures of the conguration
ID written on the nameplate (see page11)
for the device index.
5.3 Electrical connection
Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock.
− Upon installation of the electric cables, you
are required to observe the regulations
concerning low-voltage installations ac-
cording to DINVDE0100 as well as the
regulations of your local power supplier.
− Use a suitable supply voltage which guar-
antees that no dangerous voltages reach
the device in normal operation or in the
event of a fault in the system or any other
system parts.
− Connect the actuator to the electrical net-
work only after the supply voltage is rst
switched off. Make sure the power cannot
be switched on unintentionally.
Risk of injury due to the actuator stem ex-
tending or retracting.
Directly after connecting the power supply,
the actuator stem starts to move.
Do not touch or block the actuator stem.
Movement of the actuator stem will disturb
the process.
After connecting the supply voltage, the ac-
tuator moves through part of its travel range.
Do not perform the electrical connection
while the process is running. First isolate the
plant by closing the shut-off valves.

voltage is applied. This is indicated by
theredLEDblinking(seesection8.1.3).
Risk of malfunction due to incomplete
start-up.
The actuator is not ready to use until it has
been initialized.
