SLEEP MODE
When the unit is left idle for a specified period of time, it will automatically enter the sleep
mode to save energy. Follow the steps below to set the time to elapse before the sleep
mode is entered.

Press the "MENU" button, and repeatedly press the or
"ARROW" buttons until "Sleep Mode" is shown on the first line
of the display panel.

Repeatedly press the or "ARROW" buttons until the
desired value appears on the second line of the display panel.
Select from "1. 5 minutes" (Default setting), "2. 10 minutes", "3. 15 minutes"
and "4. None".

Press the "ENTER" button.
A checkmark ( ) will be added to show the selected setting. After displaying the
selected value for one second, the display will return to the ready message.
CHANGING THE PAPER DEFAULT SETTING
Use this function to change the default setting for paper. The reduction/enlargement copy
ratio settings will also be changed automatically. Refer to "REDUCING/ENLARGING THE
IMAGE SIZE FOR COPYING" for more information on making changes to these settings.
(See page 56) Follow the steps listed below to change the paper default setting.

Select from "1. 8.5x11" and "2. A4" (Default setting) setting values.

A checkmark ( ) will be added to show the selected setting. After displaying the
selected value for one second, the display will return to the ready message.
To make the unit ready from the sleep mode...
Press the "START" button ( ). The unit will also return to the ready state
automatically when you initiate a scan or print job from your computer, open the
front cover, place the original in the SPF, or set paper on the bypass tray.
