BACKLIGHT COMPENSATION

BLC/GAlN-UP
button
When the subject is backlit, the image will be
darkened if it is recorded normally. The backlight
compensation (BLC) feature
cab
improve the
picture.
Press the BLC/GAlN-UP button. The
“m”
indicator
appears on the monitor.
To turn off the BLC function and return to the normal
exposure, press the BLC/GAIN-UP button again.
The
“m”
indicator disappears.
Note:
This function cannot be used when the “LIGHT” indicator
(warning of too little ambient illumination) is displayed on
the monitor
GAIN-UP (CAT’S EYE)
When you are recording in a dark or poorly
illuminated location, the “LIGHT” indicator (warning
of too little ambient illumination) is displayed on the
monitor. The gain-up function lets you record a
brighter picture.
Press the BLC/GAIN-UP button. The “LIGHT”
indicator changes to
“K=”
indicator, indicating
that the gain-up function is now working.
To turn off the gain-up function, press the
BLC/GAIN-UP button again. The
w
indicator
changes to the “LIGHT” indicator.
Note:
. Make sure that the “LIGHT” indicator is displayed on the
monitor before pressing the
BLC/GAIN-UP
button. If the
“LIGHT” indicator is not displayed and the button
IS
pressed, the BLC feature functions.
l If the
VIEWCAM
is moved to a bright location after being
set to the Gain-up mode, the
“w”
indicator
disappears and the Gain-up mode is automatically
cancelled.
*There is more picture noise in the Gain-up mode.
l
An afterimage may remain when the Digital mode
is set to OFF on the Menu 2.
