ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION 3
3.2.5 Fitting the weather hood
Weather hood for external purge air unit
The weather hood (see “Weather hoods”, page 69) comprises a cover and locking set.
Assembly:
▸ Mount the locking pins from the locking set on the base plate.
▸ Put the weather hood on from above.
▸ Insert the holding catches into the counterpieces from the side, twist and lock in.
3.2.6 Fitting the optional MCU control unit
Fit the MCU control unit in a protected location that is easily accessible (see “Assembly
dimensions MCU (dimensions in mm)”, page 25). Observe the following points during
fitting:
● Maintain the ambient temperature according to the Technical Data; take possible
radiant heat into consideration (shield when necessary).
● Protect against direct sunlight.
● Whenever possible, choose an assembly location with minimum vibrations; dampen any
vibrations when necessary.
● Provide sufficient clearance for lines and opening the door.

Using suitable lines, (see “General information, prerequisites”, page 27) the MCU-N control
unit (without integrated purge air supply) can be located up to 1000 m away from the
sender/receiver unit.
We therefore recommend fitting the MCU in a control room (measuring station or similar) to
ensure free access to the MCU. This considerably simplifies communication with the
measuring system in order to set parameters or to locate malfunction or error causes.
